African American 5 a Day Campaign
The California African American 5 a Day Campaign at Friendly
Church of God in Christ is funded by the United States
Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food Stamp Program to expand
our health ministry which promote fruit and vegetable
consumption and physical activity messages through health fairs,
farmersʼ markets, nutrition classes, supermarkets, and the
media. The program is designed to improve the health of the
low-income African American community by providing consumer
empowerment through education, empowerment forums, and
promotions of healthy eating and increased physical activity.
